Sony’s scalable 8K x 4K Crystal LED Display System in 10m x 5.5m configuration consisting of 288 units is the main showing of the booth.

Attendees will be able to view footage on the end-to-end 8K 120p HDR display solution; Sony’s first 8K System Camera.  With a contrast ratio of over 1,000,000:1 and a 99% black surface area, Sony’s Crystal LED aims to give high contrast, high resolution and immersive visuals.

Active learning solution; ‘Vision Exchange’

The latest version 1.1 of Sony’s interactive collaboration and active learning solution ‘Vision Exchange’ will be on display for the first time and demonstrated on the show floor. The upgrade means improved communication through the integration of Skype for Business as well as Personal Note Taker.

Version 1.1 is applicable with the main units PEQ-C100, PEQ-C130 and the Pod PC Software PES-C10. Customers who previously purchased V1.0 can upgrade to V1.1 at no additional cost during the first year of purchase.

High brightness laser projectors

Sony’s new laser projectors – VPL-FHZ120L and VPL-FHZ90L – will be showcased and in use for the first time in the US.  Both models offer good pictures for audience engagement and come with a minimalistic design to blend in most spaces.

The VPL-FHZ120L is suitable for auditoriums and conference halls with live performances and ceremonies. The 3LCD installation projector covers RGB 100% and is suitable for applications that need precise colour reproduction. The VPL-FHZ90L is suitable for mid to large-sized classrooms or corporate meeting rooms.

PTZ cameras for various markets

Sony’s full line-up of PTZ cameras will be on display at InfoComm. New to the show, BRC-X1000 and BRC-H800 will be available in white and are ideal for environments like classrooms, churches, government buildings and medical spaces.

In the booth, BRC-X1000 will be shown in an auditorium set-up and as part of a lecture capture system.

BRAVIA Professional Displays as a collaboration solution

Sony’s newest BRAVIA Professional Displays in 43”, 49”, 55”, 65”, 75” and 85” models are introducing collaboration in education and corporate spaces. The features include scalable architecture, operation on the Android TV platform, intuitive user interface, device management, network and serial communication control, flexible installation options and HTML5 support.  It can also be used in conjunction with Vision Exchange to create a collaborative learning environment.

New ‘Sound VR’ technology; Sonic Surf VR

Sonic Surf VR is a collection of spatial audio technology combined with new multi-channel speakers and software designed to simulate placing, moving and partitioning. It results in an interactive area where sounds move freely in the given space.

Sonic Surf VR is ideal for a wide range of applications including location-based entertainment and corporate showrooms. It can also act as a stand-alone audio experience or be combined with digital signage.

Professional Monitors

Sony has a line-up of LCD and OLED professional monitors from entry level to high end, varying in size from 9” to 55”.

Applications include higher education, corporate, production and editing.  Popular models include the cost effective, versatile LMD B series and PVM OLED Series.  Sony’s monitor features include unique SDI & HMI sync free side by side, waveform, vectorscope and audio level metre display, video and computer input versatility, on screen tally, time code function and camera focus functions.

New solutions under development

The first is an IP-based workflow for content sharing and design review.  At the booth, visitors can experience the sharing and monitoring of data. It is also planned to have the capabilities to monitor the flow and status of packets as well as past logs using Sony’s original Software Defined Network (SDN).

Lastly, Sony’s Colour Management Solution is designed for situations where accuracy and colour matching is required. The Crystal LED display system can be used to match with Sony’s 4K OLED master monitor BVM-X300 and LCD monitors.
