KNX Association has released Version 3.0.4 of the KNX Standard to its manufacturer members.

Version 3.0.4 introduces approved chapters on KNX Energy Management, adding functional blocks for HVAC, eMobility and photovoltaics. These support Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS) as well as devices such as heat pumps and EV chargers.

The new specifications enable intelligent energy coordination, including redirecting solar surplus, optimising EV charging and integrating battery storage, smart meters and eMobility gateways.

The update also strengthens system testing by refining test specifications and templates for EITT, the standard tool used by manufacturers and accredited test labs. These changes expand coverage of KNX Classic features across TP, RF, IP and secure communication, making compliance checks more thorough and reliable.
