Hegel, distributed by Advance Audio Australia, has introduced the H200, a 150W-per-channel integrated amplifier designed to combine high-end analogue amplification with streaming, digital connectivity and smart home integration in a single component.

The H200 features an integrated DAC, streaming capabilities, MM phono input, headphone output and USB playback, alongside balanced XLR and RCA analogue inputs.

At its core is a Class A/B amplifier section supported by Hegel’s SoundEngine2 technology, which is designed to reduce distortion in real time. The amplifier also offers stability down to 2Ω loads and a damping factor of more than 4,000 for greater control over connected loudspeakers.

For digital audio, the H200 supports coaxial, optical, USB-B, USB-A and network inputs, with compatibility across Spotify Connect Lossless, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast and Roon Ready. A USB-A connection can also play back up to 10,000 songs from a drive.

The amplifier is designed for integration into modern residential systems, with support for Control4, Crestron HOME and Crestron SIMPL. It can also learn volume commands from a TV remote, while fixed-volume input settings allow it to be incorporated into home theatre configurations.

Hegel has also incorporated features intended to simplify everyday operation, including automatic input selection, configurable display dimming, auto standby and automatic firmware, app and feature updates.

An upgrade path is provided through the H200’s coaxial digital output and DAC Loop function, allowing an external DAC to be added later while retaining the amplifier as the system’s central hub.

The H200 is joined by the A200, a fully analogue integrated amplifier aimed at listeners seeking a more traditional approach to high-end audio.
