Chowmainsoft has expanded its Advanced Announcements V2 platform with native Sonos support, alongside Control4’s existing supported audio endpoints, allowing dynamic voice announcements to be broadcast through audio ecosystems.

The update enables home owners to play weather updates, security alerts, package delivery notifications and personalised spoken messages across Sonos speakers alongside existing Control4-compatible audio endpoints.

Moving beyond the limitations of Control4’s standard announcement system, which only supports pre-recorded MP3 and WAV files, Advanced Announcements V2 uses cloud-based text-to-speech to generate natural-sounding announcements on demand without requiring additional hardware.

Because announcements are created dynamically, they can include real-time information such as weather conditions, outdoor temperatures, energy usage, lighting states, security events and EV charging status. Examples include notifications that a garage door has been left open, a front door has been opened, a car has finished charging or a daily weather briefing.

The platform also functions as a whole-home public address system through live voice broadcasting. Users can access the web interface from a smartphone or PC, record a message and instantly broadcast it throughout the home, including Sonos speakers, making it suitable for family announcements or communication across larger properties.

Announcements can be triggered from multiple sources, including Control4 T3, T4 and T5 touchscreens, the Control4 iOS and Android apps, any web browser on the local network or through Control4 Programming for fully automated notifications.

In addition to Sonos support, Advanced Announcements V2 offers Control4 native audio output, dynamic cloud-based text-to-speech, live voice broadcasting, a web-based announcement interface, built-in time and date announcements, dynamic variable injection for personalised messages and requires no additional hardware.
