Nortek Security & Control is now shipping its new Gefen Multi-Format Presentation Switcher, the EXT-4K600A-MF-51-HBTLS, which offers an array of devices and inputs for conference and collaboration rooms.

The new switcher gives users a convenient single point of contact for AV sources and displays, connecting directly to room displays without need for adapters, external switchers, or convertors. It is specifically designed for work spaces, accommodating multiple concurrent input devices and providing a singular output for connection to the meeting room display.

It features a built-in scaler, auto-switching, and split HDMI/HDBaseT outputs, as well as five independently switchable and embeddable audio inputs, a microphone input with Phantom Power, audio breakout and dual HDMI/HDBaseT outputs. It works with 4K Ultra HD sources and legacy analogue devices.

Auto-switching allows users to connect quickly and the interface is accessible from any computer or mobile browse, with no need for external controllers in smaller installations.

In a larger AV system, users can access integrated scaling, picture quality, and troubleshooting tools that make fine-tuning applications easy, while Gefen Syner-G streamlines integration into any network. The Multi-Format 5×1 Switcher features built-in support for both consumer and professional microphones.

Gefen product manager Jason Fitzgerald says the plug-and-play solution automatically switches inputs to the most recently connected or activated source.
