Extron releases XPA Ultra FX configurable output 200W amplifiers
Extron has released the XPA Ultra FX four and eight-channel configurable output 200W amplifiers. With exceptional flexibility, the amplifiers allow a single unit to be set up in a variety of configurations to support large systems with multiple speaker types.
Being able to simultaneously drive 8Ω, 4Ω, 7V and 100V loads and easily configurable, each channel of an adjacent pair dynamically draws power from the pair’s total wattage to deliver optimal power where it’s needed, according to system requirements.

“Our XPA Ultra amplifiers quickly became industry favourites, so it was natural that we expand the line into higher power models. We’re confident that these multi-zone amplifiers will earn a strong place in system designs,” Extron chief marketing officer Casey Hall says.
XPA Ultra FX amplifiers feature Extron InstaWake+ technology, offering the ability to return to full power from standby in under 5ms. This ensures no part of the audio is ever cut off.
With an appealing new design, the fan-cooled enclosure can be part of a high-tech aesthetic or hidden away in a rack without requiring adjacent empty space for ventilation.
The XPA U 2008 FX (offering eight channels up to 200W each) utilises dynamic power allocation and is configurable to provide up to 400W per channel at half the channel count. The XPA U 2004 FX offers four channels at 200W and up to 400W per channel at half the channel count.
The XPA U 200 FX and XPA U 2004 FX amplifiers are the new go-to solutions for any multi-zone application requiring mixed speaker impedances and power levels.
