Extron releases Quantum DTP3 cards for long-distance videowall signal extension
Extron has released Quantum DTP3 input and output cards to simplify long-distance signal extension for videowall systems.
The Quantum IN4DTP3 is a four-input card that removes the need for DTP3 receivers when sources are located far from a Quantum Ultra II processor. Each input supports either twisted pair or HDMI, and power insertion allows remote powering of DTP3 or DTP transmitters.

The Quantum OUT4DTP3 provides four DTP3 outputs, eliminating the need for transmitters when displays are distant from the processor. Each output also includes a buffered HDMI output for local monitoring, streaming or recording, with power insertion to remotely power DTP3 or DTP receivers. Both cards support signals up to 4K/60 over distances of up to 100m.
Extron chief marketing officer Casey Hall says the cards respond to requests from system designers and integrators for simpler remote signal extension.
“Our Quantum DTP3 I/O cards deliver all that is needed and more for Quantum Ultra II systems to integrate perfectly into a wide range of environments, from education and community presentation venues to government and utility command centres,” he says.
The IN4DTP3 and OUT4DTP3 cards allow per-channel selection between DTP3, DTP and XTP modes for flexible system design. Embedded audio can be routed between cards or sent to a Dante network when paired with a Quantum OUT32AT card. RS-232 signals can be inserted via the Quantum Ultra II Ethernet control port, while power insertion enables remote powering of endpoints.
The Quantum Ultra II processor supports high-bandwidth videowall operations, offering up to 500Gbps throughput via the HyperLane video bus. HDMI 4K PLUS, FOX3 and DTP3 cards support 4K/60 at 4:4:4 with HDCP 2.3, with 8K/60 sources handled as quad-path signals. The processor supports up to 20 canvases with mixed resolutions and orientations, portrait and landscape output, custom resolutions and direct control via RS-232, USB or Ethernet.
