Biamp has unveiled the successful deployment of its Vocia networked paging and background music solution at a hotel in central Perth, Australia. Installed by Integrate Perth, the Vocia platform delivers control and audio distribution across the hotel’s multi-level hospitality spaces.

The venue includes two floors of restaurants, foyer areas, an upstairs bar with multiple entertainment zones and a DJ station with audio input.

“When we looked at the project, it screamed at us that this was perfect for Biamp Vocia,” Integrate Perth sales director Andrew Anderson-King says.

“We needed multiple paging zones, flexible background music (BGM) distribution and simple control for end users. Vocia ticked every box.”

Central to the system is the Biamp Vocia MS-1 message server, which manages and monitors every Vocia device on the network.

“The beauty of Vocia is that we could implement a multi-channel amplifier effectively anywhere throughout the hotel over the network. From there, we could run traditional high or low impedance audio from each amplifier to its respective zone,” Andrew says.

“Vocia provided a good solution in terms of simple implementation, simple installation, very simple programming and flexibility.”

Vocia operates on a dedicated virtual local-area network (VLAN) and includes remote monitoring capabilities; any faults are logged within the software, meaning if there’s an issue, administrators can remotely access the system and diagnose the problem immediately.
