Biamp streamlines inclusion of Dante in system designs
Biamp has announced the expansion of its TesiraCONNECT line to include the TesiraCONNECT TC-5D at ISE 2020, a dual network device that allows designers to seamlessly incorporate both AVB and Dante into their AV solutions.
This highlights Biamp’s commitment to multi-protocol support and provides integrators with the tools they need to deliver complete AV solutions.

The TC-5D offers the same plug-and-play simplicity of the recently introduced TC-5 connectivity appliance that adds the interoperability of Dante. With this new product, users can connect and power with PoE+ both Dante and Biamp AVB devices.
“No matter which components are selected, Biamp is committed to supporting the network protocols that our integrators prefer to use,” Biamp executive vice president of corporate development Joe Andrulis says.
“TesiraCONNECT TC-5D ensures networking protocol and product selection decisions stay firmly in the hands of designers and integrators while providing them with all the benefits of the Tesira platform. Integrators now have the flexibility they need to create the most effective system without burdening IT departments with special network considerations and lengthy installations.”
This new TC-5D is designed to support a range of use cases, from customers using a Dante enterprise backbone to bridge multiple Biamp conference rooms together, to solutions that need to combine Biamp Terisa products with common Dante devices such as mixing consoles or wireless microphone systems.
“When a system uses only Biamp components, the TC-5 is an effective and economical connectivity solution,” Joe continues.
“However, with simultaneous support of Biamp AVB and Dante, the TC-5D represents the most flexible connectivity solution for the Tesira platform, enabling the ease of use, performance and flexibility our customers need no matter what mix of devices their system incorporates.”
Both the TC-5D and the existing TC-5 model comes with five network connections, four of which are PoE+-powered RJ-45 ports and an additional unpowered RJ-45 port.
The TC-5D will be available in the third quarter of 2020.
