ARC’s 50^th anniversary product line continues with a special edition update of the REF Phono 3 Preamplifier, dubbed the REF Phono 3SE, which is available only through Audio Research retailers.

It replaces the Photo 3 which was introduced in 2016 and has been recognised and awarded internationally. The knowledge gained when creating the Reference 160-Series amplifier has transitioned to both the new special edition products in line-stage and phono-stage.

Due to the low-level nature of signals involved in the phono stage, the component and wiring upgrades needed in the special edition combine to create a startling upgrade on performance. These improvements include enhanced resolution at all levels, greater purity and focus, improved transient speed and snap and increase in quality of dynamic shading.

It’s available to all current REF Phono 3 owners and authorised service centres will be able to install the SE update kits from May 2020.
