Audio Research has followed up its internationally-acclaimed Reference 160M monaural power amplifier by introducing the 160S stereo power amplifier.

The REF160S is a vacuum-tube design with dual transport power meters that float in front of eight KT150 output power tubes.

It contains a similar feature set to that introduced in the 160M, including a proprietary auto-biast circuit, switchable Triode or Ultralinear modes of operation, balanced and single-ended inputs, and an output tube monitoring mode.

The 160S also offers a four-layer circuit board which allows music to emanate from a jet-black background.

Audio Research products are distributed in Australia by Synergy AV.
