Kordz R.4 HDMI Cable built for demanding rack and marine installations
Kordz is putting its R.4 48Gbps Rack and Marine Passive HDMI Cable in the spotlight at CEDIA Expo 2026, showcasing a cable designed to keep AV systems running reliably in some of the more challenging installation environments.
The successor to Kordz’ R.3 18Gbps HDMI Cable, R.4 supports the full 48Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, allowing uncompressed 8K video alongside features including eARC, VRR and QMS.

For integrators working in high-density racks, the R.4 combines a slimmer cable profile with compact die-cast connectors and lengths available in precise 0.3m increments from 0.3m to 3m. The design helps with cable management and airflow, while a full-metal internal connector housing and 95% copper braid shield over 125% foil coverage provide protection against electromagnetic interference.
The cable is equally suited to marine applications, where vibration and movement can put additional strain on connections. A 2kg retention HDMI connector helps keep the connection secure, while the LSZH construction meets IEC60332, IEC60754 and IEC61034 requirements for low-smoke, zero-halogen performance.
Every R.4 cable is independently tested and certified to the DPL Labs Enhanced 48Gbps Reference Standard, with the range also covered by Kordz’ lifetime warranty.
“The R.4 is purpose-built for integrators who require absolute confidence in critical HDMI infrastructure,” Kordz managing director James Chen says.
“It reflects a focused engineering approach to real installation challenges, such as mechanical stability, EMI control, airflow and compliance, while ensuring systems remain future-ready.”
Kordz will also demonstrate the physical strength of its cabling at CEDIA Expo through its ‘Cables that hold their own’ demonstration. Its PRO4 Active Optical HDMI Cable will be used to suspend a 20kg box of Cat6 cable while simultaneously powering a live TV.
Despite its 4.7mm diameter, PRO4 delivers 48Gbps uncompressed bandwidth over distances of up to 100m and carries the same DPL Labs Enhanced 48G Reference Standard certification, highlighting Kordz’ focus on combining installation-friendly designs with the performance demanded by professional AV systems.
