DoorBird has launched its D22x series of IP video door intercoms, introducing more than 30 models designed to provide flexible door communication, access control and building integration across residential and commercial applications.

The range succeeds DoorBird’s D21x series and introduces features aimed at larger and more complex properties, including digitally managed nameplates that can be updated remotely. This allows property managers, housing associations and building operators to manage resident and tenant information centrally.

Every D22x model features a 5MP HDR camera with a Sony image sensor and 180° ultra-wide-angle lens. Video can be transmitted in HD over a local network or through DoorBird Cloud Pro, while the system is designed to provide clear two-way audio between visitors and residents.

Depending on the model, users can authenticate through the DoorBird app, dual-frequency RFID, Bluetooth, PIN code, QR code or fingerprint recognition. A radar-based 4D motion sensor and integrated tamper sensor add further security features.

The D22x series is also designed to simplify installation. An integrated power output for electric door openers can eliminate the need for a separate power supply in many installations, reducing cabling requirements and installation time.

For system integrators, the range provides open interfaces including SIP, OSDP, RS485 and Wiegand, alongside a documented LAN and Cloud API. DoorBird says these interfaces allow the intercoms to integrate with more than 100 smart home, access control, video surveillance and building management systems.

The door stations can support installations with up to 3,000 residential or office units. Alongside conventional call buttons, the range includes digital nameplates and displays with resident directories.

Accessibility options can also be incorporated, including an integrated hearing loop, pictograms and acoustic signals confirming that a door has been opened.

The series is also designed to simplify upgrades for existing DoorBird installations. Owners of D21x systems can modernise their installations by replacing the main electronic unit while retaining existing housings, front panels and other components. Existing settings can also be retained, reducing installation work and limiting the amount of hardware that needs to be replaced.

The D22x range is available in more than 50 finishes and colour options, while DoorBird’s 3D Configurator allows customers to customise front panel dimensions, engravings, mailboxes and the integration of reader units from other manufacturers.
