Yamaha focusing on diverse meeting places
Improvements to audio technology in meeting spaces will be the focus of Yamaha Unified Communications’ InfoComm 2019 booth at next month’s event in Orlando, Florida.
The company will showcase the latest additions to its portfolio, including a new wireless extension microphone for the CS-700 SIP video sound bar, new solutions for medium-sized and open spaces, the award-winning YVC-200 and YVC-1000 conference phones, and, finally, the new YAI-1 XL wireless microphone conference ensemble.

The XW CS-700 microphone extends audio pick-up beyond the system’s 12’ (3.6m) radius without need for cords or cables.
The YAI-1 XL bundle is specifically designed to provide boardrooms and large conference rooms with professional USB audio solution that can be installed out of the box. The system has a preconfigured USB audio system to support today’s UC platforms. The YAI-1 comes with up to eight microphones while the YAI-1 XL offers 16.
Both bundles include VXL 1-16 PoE speaker arrays (two for the YAI-1 and four for the YAI-1 XL), preconfigured digital signal processor(s), a PoE switch, Dante AVIO USB adapter and cabling.
Yamaha Unified Communications vice president of sales and marketing Michael Fitch says the new solutions will bring life and simplicity back into the target environments.
“The meeting place has changed drastically, with more organisations installing huddle rooms and utilising UC applications to host high-quality, spontaneous and intuitive meetings.”
But, he points out: “People are also meeting in boardrooms, medium-size conference and collaboration spaces, and even out in the open – environments that up until this point have either been largely ignored or didn’t include the necessary components to host professional, consistent audio conferences.”
