Reflecting a change in our musical habits, and in particular the way we discover music, integration of Pandora internet radio on both the RX-V675 and RX-V775 provides a personalised music streaming service for users to create their own stations on computers and devices based on a favourite artist, song, composer, genre or comedian. Whether listening to old classics or discovering new music, the ability to log in directly from the AV receiver enables users to quickly and conveniently enjoy synced music playlists tailored specifically to their tastes.

Mobile HD Link (MHL), which enables users to access HD content directly from compatible devices such as Android smartphones and tablets, features prominently with a MHL-capable HDMI port on the front of each receiver model. The connection, which requires an MHL cable, provides the same convenience enjoyed previously by Apple users being able to connect devices directly to the AV receiver, but with the added advantage of carrying a Full HD video signal.

Borrowing technology from Yamaha’s sound bar range, the RX-V675 and RX-V775 can be configured to create surround sound effects without the need for side and rear speakers.

Employing new Virtual CINEMA DSP technology, 7.1 channel surround sound is achieved from only the front main speakers – creating sounds around and behind the audience in circumstances where surround speakers are not utilised.

Other features include support for Ultra HD and the ability to upscale standard and Full HD content, network functionality and app control for iOS/Android phones and tablets, Yamaha’s advanced Graphical User Interface (GUI), Intelligent Amplifier Assignment for auto re-routing of channels depending on the receiver’s use, and Zone 2 enabling two independent audio sources to be enjoyed in different areas of the home.

In addition, both receiver models feature seven channels with two subwoofer outputs, discrete amplifier configuration and 192 kHz/24-bit Burr-Brown DACs for superior audio performance. The RX-V675 is rated at 7x90W (8Ω, 20Hz – 20kHz, 0.09%THD) while the RX-V775 provides 7 x 95W (8Ω, 20Hz – 20kHz, 0.09% THD).

Yamaha’s advanced Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimiser (YPAO) auto calibration system on both the RX-V675 and RX-V755 offera Reflected Sound Control (RSC) to negate early reflections from hard surfaces (ie- walls and coffee tables in close proximity) which may hinder sound quality. The RX-V775 takes calibration a step further offering Multipoint measurement to provide optimised listening in up to eight positions, creating a greater ‘sweet spot’ for larger audiences.

For those looking for something a little different, the RX-V675 is available in a new titanium finish this year in addition to the standard black, complementing various new television designs.

Boasting enhanced versatility, an additional HDMI output is featured on the RX-V775 enabling the same video source to be received simultaneously in two areas of the home.
