Williams AV introduces IR Plus assisted listening system with integrated WiFi
Williams AV has introduced the IR Plus, an industry-first IR system for hearing assistance that combines secure IR and optional WaveCAST audio over WiFi in a single box.
It’s the first IR technology making use of audio-over-WiFi as well as the first technology in its class to provide a single cable solution from the modulator to the emitter.

The IR Plus uses distributed emitter array design to accommodate up to 16 emitters with flexible coverage in a space up to 26,750m². It also comes with a distributed IR emitter array allowing for up to four emitters to be stacked together for large room arrays or distributed throughout the room to accommodate wings in room design, balconies or other obscured locations.
The WaveCAST network output for streaming audio through WiFi also comes on an iOS or Android app, supporting mobile devices. It means users can access hearing assistance without needing to ask facility managers or additional devices.
It can also be paired with the Williams Sound WF R1 WiFi receiver for those that do not want to use mobile.
The rack mounted or remotely located IR modulator comes standard with support for up to four IR emitters. Each emitter runs back to the modulator via a CAT5e/CAT6 cable, providing the audio and power needed to support the remote emitter. Very large room applications can be supported by adding up to four IR A4 1:4 splitter to support longer cable lengths up to 16 IR emitters.
