Westan has been appointed as exclusive Australasian distributor for the innovative Kandao Meeting Pro conferencing camera.

The Kandao Meeting Pro is a powerful and portable 360° video conferencing camera with built-in omnidirectional microphone coverage, AI technology and Micro SD card slot for recording.

Boasting an Android operating system, Meeting Pro can be used as a completely standalone video conferencing solution, and it’s compatible with Zoom, Teams, Skype, GoToMeeting, Cisco Webex, Bluejeans and more.

Designed to be placed in the centre of a conference or boardroom table, the Kandao Meeting Pro captures video with its two opposing fisheye lenses and stitches their images together in real-time to form a seamless 360° canvas. AI facial recognition technology automatically detects and creates images for each meeting participant and selects which shot is fed to the 720p or 1080p video output according to whoever is speaking.

Eight beam forming microphones pinpoint voices around the device. Noise reduction and echo cancellation ensure clean audio capture up to a 5.5m radius and a ported loudspeaker pushes clear sound to all in the room. Video conferences can be recorded straight onto a Micro SD card in MP4 (H.264) or MJPEG formats.

Setup is easy – simply connect the Kandao Meeting Pro to a display or TV with a HDMI cable, then get online via Wi-Fi or through the Ethernet port. Pick an app from the menu, launch a meeting and you’re ready to go. Alternatively, you can plug Meeting Pro straight into your laptop with a USB-C cable to be used like any other webcam.

Multiple preconfigured display modes allow you to set up Meeting Pro for how you wish to use it – for a presentation, video conference, or other application. Take charge of display modes, mute, volume level, recording and more with the Bluetooth remote control. A 1/4-inch tripod screw offers mounting flexibility.
