Vanco, distributed by Advanced Audio Australia, has released the PulseAudio PAEXEARC Digital Audio Extender with eARC.

The PAEXEARC can transmit eARC, ARC, or S/PDIF digital audio signals, offering a single, flexible solution to suit most installations. Both the eARC/ARC and S/PDIF outputs are always live, allowing operators to switch between them in an instant.

The extender can transmit HDMI eARC or ARC digital audio signals up to 100m over a single Cat 5e/6 cable, while S/PDIF signals can be extended even further, up to 200m.

It also supports audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby Atmos, including uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound and object based audio. It also has bi-directional PoC which allows the system to work with only one unit connected to power either the transmitter or receiver.

“eARC is a convenient and highly capable transmission technology—which is why it’s so frustrating when it fails, due to distance limitations, inconsistent implementation, or lack of support across the entirety of the signal chain,” Advanced Audio Australia Tony Ingrisano says.

“The new PulseAudio Digital Audio Extender is the perfect solution. It extends the range of eARC and ARC signals, preserving CEC passthrough—and for peace of mind also has a built-in back-up plan.”
