TCL Electronics has announced the backlighting system in its new premium C835 Series features unprecedented technological developments.

Available in 75”, 65” and 55” panels, the C835 Mini LED TV Series delivers outstanding picture quality — courtesy of its high-performance Mini LED display system — along with remarkably rich audio driven by Onkyo Audio and Dolby Atmos.

TCL Australia national marketing manager, Rafael Mayen, says: “With its 144Hz Variable Refresh Rate, ALLM and HDMI 2.1 connectivity, this premium model enables gamers with compatible consoles/equipment to experience faster responsiveness, sharper imagery, and smoother gameplay. This also gives gamers an important edge, especially in multiplayer games.”

New developments in TCL’s C835 Mini LED TV backlighting include:

  • Advanced fourth-generation backlighting system — the TVs are equipped with an advanced Mini LED innovation called OD20, where the distance between the backlight system and the LCD panel is 20mm. This delivers incredible contrast and enhanced picture quality
  • Direct Drive — the on-board LEDs are capable of changing state extremely quickly i.e., less than that required to display an image. This feature eliminates shadows on moving objects, resulting in increased realism
  • Round Halo diodes — no longer square in shape, round halo diodes are more effective at controlling the light generated, significantly reducing the halo phenomenon. Also known as blooming, this is when the light from the bright LEDs escapes and bleeds into the space of the dark LEDs

Rafael adds: “With smart functionality that connects to popular ecosystems including Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit and Amazon Alexa, TCL’s C835 TV Series creates an all-inclusive, home entertainment hub.”
