Sennheiser releases MKE Mini microphone for presenters

Sennheiser has released a high-quality, miniature omnidirectional lavalier-style microphone to its portfolio with the release of the MKE Mini. The solution is an easy-to-wear mic for speeches and lectures.

With a total length of 9cm and ultra-lightweight (7g), the MKE Mini is convenient to wear, while meeting the special challenges of a moderator microphone.

The MKE Mini was developed in response to direct customer feedback and requests. Users demanded a presenter mic that can be worn with any hairstyle, is unobstructive and easy to install and provides excellent sound quality.

Additionally, the MKE Mini is the perfect fit when wearing a hairstyle that doesn’t allow for a head mic or an outfit that offers no possibility to clip a body pack.

To ensure the premium audio quality one would expect from Sennheiser, Sennheiser equipped the MKE Mini with the KE 4 capsule, derived from industry standard MKE 2, which provides a warm and distortion-free signal, even at high sound pressure levels. The MKE Mini also features Sennheiser’s Umbrella Diaphragm technology, protecting the mic against sweat and other moisture.

“Our customers have often voiced struggles with headmics that don’t fit well over their hair, but many also struggle with where to place a body pack and lavalier mic, if they don’t have a belt or pocket to hook the beltpack to,” Sennheiser business development manager, business communications, Inesh Patel says.

“Therefore, we designed the MKE Mini to hang with a bodypack around the neck on a lanyard with placement right under the chin, which is ideal.”
