Russound XStream System
Russound’s Xstream integrates both wired and wireless systems to offer installation flexibility and profit opportunities. The company will soon announce a plethora of the most popular on-board streaming services.
“Custom pros are always asking for wireless solutions that do more than skim the surface of what is possible in a modern whole-house audio system,” says Russound chief executive Charlie Porritt.
“Xstream is a true whole house system, and our dealers will find that it’s a seamless fit with nearly any project, no matter if it calls for a wired or wireless audio solution.”

XStream will seamlessly connect with an existing home network, without the additional expense of gateways or proprietary network devices. Dozens of X5 zones can be installed with the number of content streams limited only by the home network’s bandwidth.
All connectivity is supported by following WiFi standards that are designed for optimisation of high-speed data transmissions.
The XStream system will include a wide array of installer-centric features, including the option for locally wired keypads (Russound’s MDK-C6, SLK-1 or TS3) that, typical of the company’s controls, are attractive and uniquely configured for each installation. Wireless control is just as easy, thanks to the X5’s compatibility with the My Russound App, which is available for iOS and Android tablets and smartphones.
XStream will feature third-party integration and control through Ethernet or WiFi thanks to RIO, Russound’s IP-based control protocol that offers easy integration with many popular home automation systems.
