Redback, distributed by Altronics, has launched the A4507 Programmable School Timer, a 1U rack-mount system designed to automate school bells, announcements, music and emergency messaging.

The system supports programmable school calendars, repeating and rotating timetables, MP3 playback, remote programming and integration with Redback paging and PA systems.

The A4507 allows installers or school staff to program a full school calendar, including term dates, student-free days, public holidays and daylight saving changes. Its Windows-based software supports repeating and rotating weekly timetables, with programming available locally or remotely through a local network or VPN.

MP3 files and timing schedules can be stored internally or on a Micro SD card, with the system able to automate bells, pre-bells, announcements and music playback. Audio can be configured for random or sequential MP3 playback.

The A4507 also provides 24V DC and normally open/normally closed outputs, which can operate alongside or instead of timer audio events for applications including bells and sirens.

Emergency messaging can be integrated through the Redback A4660A paging console, with up to nine programmable incident buttons available for alerts such as fire, evacuation and intruder notifications. Emergency events can be assigned priority to override lower-priority scheduled events.

The timer supports all-call paging with up to 16 consoles. When connected to the Redback A4590 16-zone paging system, it can also provide individual zone paging across up to 32 zones.

Other features include remote emergency triggering, a switched 24V DC output, auxiliary-level output and battery backup for the current time. The A4507 is housed in a standard 1U 19” rack-mount case and is designed for integration into school PA and communication systems.
