Chowmainsoft has launched a Navidrome driver for Control4, allowing users to browse, search and play music from a centrally managed Navidrome library directly through the Control4 interface.

Navidrome is a private, self-hosted music server that stores and organises a music library in one central location, making it accessible across compatible devices including phones, tablets, PCs and web browsers.

The driver provides native Control4 Media Service integration and supports browsing artists, albums, songs, radios and playlists, along with library search and artwork-based list and grid views. Users can drill down from artists to albums and tracks, or from albums directly to tracks, and play complete artists, albums and playlists.

Playback features include play, pause, stop, next and previous controls, now playing metadata and artwork, queue management, shuffle and the ability to save the current queue as a Navidrome playlist. Users can also play, queue, favourite and delete Navidrome playlists.

The driver supports Control4 room favourites and recently played, while its random tracks function creates a new queue of 100 random songs.

For library management, users can trigger quick scan and full scan functions from the Misc tab. Composer programming commands are also available for scans and music playback, with programmatic selection of artists, albums, tracks and playlists, including hierarchical drill-down.

Programmed playback can also be directed to multiple rooms, allowing Navidrome music to be selected and played across a Control4 multi-room
