Powersoft unveils AnyMATE platform and SpeakerMATE passive loudspeaker technology

Powersoft will unveil AnyMATE and its first commercial implementation, SpeakerMATE, at ISE 2026, marking a move toward more intelligent and connected installed audio systems.

Designed to add identification, monitoring and data exchange capabilities directly to passive loudspeakers, AnyMATE and SpeakerMATE operate without the need for additional network cabling or external power. Instead, the system enables communication over existing speaker lines, allowing the amplifier to function as a central hub for both audio and data.

Historically, system intelligence in professional AV installations has focused on active devices and IP-based infrastructure, leaving passive loudspeakers as disconnected endpoints. AnyMATE aims to address this gap through a proprietary protocol and patent-pending physical-layer implementation that transmits data via an amplifier’s output channels rather than Ethernet or wireless connections.

Developed within Powersoft’s R&D department over more than a decade, AnyMATE has been engineered to suit the practical constraints of installed audio environments, including long cable runs, high-impedance architectures and legacy infrastructure. The platform is also designed for retrofit applications, enabling existing systems to be upgraded by adding compatible downstream hardware where amplifiers support sufficient current sensing and processing.

SpeakerMATE establishes communication between amplifiers and passive loudspeakers and can be installed as an external add-on near the speaker or integrated directly by loudspeaker manufacturers. For retrofit projects, SpeakerMATE connects in parallel with the speaker line using quick-splice connectors and requires no dedicated power supply.

Once installed, SpeakerMATE devices are automatically discovered and configured via Powersoft’s Armonía+ software. Integrators can preload device data such as loudspeaker brand and model information, allowing the system to suggest appropriate presets and reduce commissioning errors.

SpeakerMATE also incorporates onboard sensing, including a temperature sensor, accelerometer and microphone, with support for an external sensor via a GPI port. These features enable monitoring functions such as temperature and tilt measurement, sound pressure level testing and access to metadata including serial numbers, installation notes and lifecycle history.

When connected to cloud-based services such as MyPowersoft, accessed through MyUniverso, system status and anomalies can be monitored remotely, supporting preventative maintenance and reducing the need for on-site service visits across large, distributed installations.

“These technologies demonstrate the importance we place on investing in research and development. It’s exciting to see AnyMATE’s application in SpeakerMATE and this is only the beginning for a platform we believe will have a significant impact on the audio sector,” Powersoft R&D director Claudio Lastrucci says.
