The company will be displaying a range of its new and existing lighting and Philips Dynalite lighting control products at the show, including LED control technologies that allow flicker-free LED dimming to be achieved. Philips Dynalite will also introduce a new product to allow LED control to be accomplished through existing leading edge controllers, a new hotel room system actuator, plus a new range of user interfaces.

According to Philips Dynalite ANZ dimension channel manager Aaron Castles, LED technology features highly in the company’s offerings at CEDIA this year.

“Philips Lighting is a market leader in lighting and lighting control technologies, and nowhere is this more evident than with LED lighting solutions,” he says.

“LEDs allow some amazing lighting effects to be achieved. The range of LED lights available from Philips—allied with our LED control solutions—combine together to deliver an unparalleled proposition to the market place.”

Arguably the most exciting product on show from Philips Dynalite this year is the DGLEDM401 LED Control Card for the company’s DDMC802GL Multipurpose Controller. This dimming module card runs off analogue circuitry to compensate for—and respond to—mains fluctuations, thereby allowing LED luminaires to be dimmed flicker-free.

“This is a major breakthrough solution to a problem that has been plaguing the lighting industry,” Aaron says.

Furthermore, Philips Dynalite is introducing its new Active Load for LED Lighting. This is a timed resistor circuit that ensures a leading edge dimmer is loaded correctly to work with LED lighting. While not a solution to mains instability—as with the DGLEDM401 LED Control Card—the Active Load does enable users to exchange existing incandescent luminaires for LEDs, without the need to replace an entire lighting control system.

Also new in Philips Dynalite’s product portfolio is the DR2PA-SA Hotel Room System Actuator. This cardholder enables a hotel room’s lighting, blinds and HVAC systems to be activated and deactivated simply through the use of the guest’s keycard. Moreover, the company will use the CEDIA expo to release a new user-interface range to complement its existing Revolution, Standard and Traditional series, which will also be on show.

A number of existing products will additionally be on display at the show, including the popular DTP170 and DTP100 user-interface touch screens, the integrated Somfy gateways for wired/wireless control of motorised blinds, the DDNG-KNX for integration with a KNX system and the DUS804 Multifunction Sensor. Featuring PIR and light-level detection, plus an IR receive capability, the DUS804 is ideal for daylight harvesting applications.

“The DUS804 multifunction sensor is just one of many products that will be presented at CEDIA that are part of Philips Lighting’s ongoing drive to offer energy-efficient solutions to the market,” Aaron says.

“From low-energy usage LED lighting, through to sophisticated energy-management software, Philips has the solution to future-proof your home or business.”

To see firsthand the range of lighting and lighting control solutions on offer from Philips, visit the company at the CEDIA exhibition: Stand 52 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, from 9 to 11 May 2012. Here, a team of Philips Lighting specialists will be available to provide advice on your lighting requirements.
