Panasonic previews Open Platform LCD display at Integrate
Panasonic Australia will preview its first Open Platform professional LCD display with a demonstration at the upcoming Integrate Expo in Melbourne from August 25-27.
The new digital signage solution includes the company’s all-new Android and HTML5-based Embedded Open Platform, allowing for easy porting of digital signage software to the displays, thus eliminating the need for external media players.
Product marketing manager, panels and projectors, for Panasonic Chris Maw said: “This is the ‘new wave’ of digital signage. We’ll be demonstrating our display with SCALA’s customisable digital signage software, and showing how content can be accessed from the cloud.”

As the digital signage market trends towards self-contained, network-connected displays and the Internet of Things, Panasonic is focusing its research and development resources on designing a smart, intuitive, developer-friendly operating platform that adds real value for end users.
By using Android architecture with HTML5 capability, Panasonic has created a fertile ecosystem for the development of third-party applications specifically for digital signage, commercial enterprises, and the classroom.
Panasonic aims to form strategic collaborations with a number of third-party software developers to provide the end user with the broadest possible diversity of applications tailored to meet individual requirements. Together with a range of applications, an embedded signage player will reduce installation complexity, allow for improved signage system mobility, and enable operation from remote locations—all factors contributing to lower total cost of ownership.
The LF8P Series will be available in 42″, 49″ and 55″ models, and offer high brightness with outstanding picture quality and eye-catching visibility. The panels are built for continuous 24/7 reliable operation. The LF8P Series with Embedded Open Platform will be available in Australia in early 2016.
Panasonic Australia will be on Stand Number E46 at Integrate. The Integrate Expo will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 25-27.
