OpenAudio expands KNX integration with real-time media metadata
OpenAudio has expanded its KNX integration platform with real-time media metadata support across its multi-zone streaming audio solutions.
The update builds on existing KNX functionality for mute, volume, source selection and audio routing, giving integrators access to live playback information within KNX visualisation and control environments.

KNX touch panels, visualisation servers and automation interfaces can now display track title, artist, album information, playback status and progress information alongside existing audio controls.
“Audio has traditionally been one of the least integrated subsystems within many building automation projects,” OpenAudio business development director Darren Ma says.
“By bringing metadata directly into the KNX ecosystem, we’re helping create a more seamless and informative user experience.”
The functionality is available across OpenAudio’s centralised multi-zone audio platforms, including its HOLOWHAS product families.
The platforms combine streaming audio, amplification, matrix routing, DSP processing and automation integration in a single system, targeting smart home, hospitality and commercial building applications.
