CEDIA is inviting nominations for its 2020-2021 board of directors, with members having until Friday, 2 August to submit their suggestions.

The board of directors influences the direction of the industry, governs the association’s activities and represents the residential technology profession to the outside world. There are seven open board positions. The board includes regional representatives to reflect the geographical density of the membership.

New directors will be elected in two ways.

CEDIA members will vote to fill four elected positions out of the Home Technology Professional members. One EMEA member will be elected, with the remaining three spots going to global members.

The other three positions will be appointed to the board – one from the EMEA region and the others from the global membership. The CEDIA governance committee reviews the candidates based on the skills required and makes a recommendation to the board for its approval.

All newly elected members will take their seats in January 2020.

CEDIA chairman David Humphries says: “Being part of the CEDIA board has been one of the best experiences I have had both personally and professionally – it is a great honour to be part of casting the strategic vision for the association.

“We are always looking for new leaders to help shape the future of the association. I would encourage every member to consider nominating someone they think would represent the industry and the association well.”

Nomination forms are available on the CEDIA website. Voting will be open from 10 September to 22 October.
