MSolutions unveils compact IP-to-serial control gateway ahead of ISE 2026

MSolutions, distributed by Kordz Australia, has unveiled the MS-RSE-G, a compact monitoring and control device designed to help integrators manage both IP-based and legacy serial-controlled AV equipment within mixed technology environments.

The device will make its debut at ISE 2026, where MSolutions will demonstrate it alongside its broader portfolio of AV extenders and collaboration solutions for meeting and learning spaces.

The MS-RSE-G is an ultra-compact unit, allowing it to be easily concealed almost anywhere within a building. It is designed to monitor and control devices that rely on RS-232 connections, such as AV extenders, motorised shades and other serial-controlled hardware.

The unit acts as a bridge between IP and UART (RS-232), translating data between modern IP networks and legacy serial communication. This allows integrators to connect older devices with serial control or monitoring interfaces to an IP network, enabling centralised management and improved visibility across large installations.

The MS-RSE-G connects to standard IP networks and provides continuous monitoring of connected devices using Secure Shell (SSH) over IP to establish encrypted connections. It supports three interfaces, RS-232, USB-A and IP, giving installers flexibility when working with diverse AV systems across complex environments.

MSolutions chief executive Eliran Toren says the product was developed in response to the ongoing prevalence of serial-controlled devices in the field.

“There remains a very large installed base of networking, peripheral and other devices worldwide that use serial principles for data transmission. These devices will remain in service for many years. We built the MS-RSE-G to serve as a reliable mediation device between IP and serial network protocols, which remain important to AV installers working in mixed AV environments,” he says.

The MS-RSE-G aims to simplify integration challenges in buildings where modern IP infrastructure must coexist with long-established serial-controlled technology.
