Kordz are preparing to launch its R.4 48Gbps rack and marine passive HDMI cable at ISE 2026, expanding its professional-grade AV connectivity portfolio with a solution designed for mission-critical rack and marine environments.

Engineered for applications where reliability is critical, the R.4 supports the full 48Gbps data rate required for uncompressed 8K video and the complete HDMI 2.1 feature set, including eARC, VRR and QMS. Each cable is independently performance tested and certified to the DPL Labs Enhanced 48Gbps Reference Standard, ensuring verified interoperability in real-world HDMI systems.

“The R.4 is purpose-built for integrators who require absolute confidence in critical HDMI infrastructure. It reflects a focused engineering approach to real installation challenges like mechanical stability, EMI control, airflow and compliance, while ensuring systems remain future-ready,” Kordz managing director James Chen says.

For rack installations, the R.4 features a compact die-cast connector, a slimmer cable diameter and length options in 0.3m increments from 0.3m to 3.0m. These design elements support cleaner cable management, improved airflow and more efficient routing in high-density equipment racks.

A full metal internal casing and a 95% copper braid shield enhance electromagnetic interference rejection to help maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy environments.

In marine applications, the cable incorporates a secure 2kg retention HDMI connector designed to withstand vibration and movement. Its low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) construction meets IEC60332, IEC60754 and IEC61034 standards, making it suitable for marine and other compliance-driven environments where fire safety and long-term reliability are essential.
