Linn brings in-house Pistonik Motor System drivers to redefine flagship 360 speakers
Linn Products, distributed by Advance Audio Australia, has introduced a major update to its flagship 360 floor-standing speakers with the launch of a new in-house driver platform, the Pistonik Motor System, alongside a new walnut finish option with black or silver trim.
The driver marks a significant shift for the 360 range, with Linn moving to fully internalised driver design for the first time. Both the Linn 360 Exakt and Linn 360 Passive With Active Bass (PWAB) systems manufactured from April 2026 onwards will feature the updated components, while existing owners will be able to retrofit the new drivers via in-home upgrades carried out through authorised dealers.

At the heart of the update is a redesigned 6” upper bass driver and an 8” woofer, developed as part of Linn’s broader effort to eliminate reliance on outsourced low-frequency components.
The Pistonik Motor System has been engineered to reduce distortion and improve linearity across a wide excursion range. The design focuses on eliminating magnetic, mechanical and thermal limitations that typically affect driver performance in high-output loudspeaker systems.
Key elements of the system include a lightweight aluminium diaphragm designed for improved rigidity and responsiveness, a fully saturated magnetic structure intended to minimise magnetic drag and reduce amplifier load and a triple-layer ventilation system that disperses heat and reduces air compression within the driver assembly.
Alongside the technical overhaul, Linn has also introduced a walnut finish for the 360 range, available with either black or silver detailing, expanding aesthetic options for system integration in domestic environments.
The updated 360 speakers remain compatible with Linn Exakt technology, which applies digital filtering to correct crossover timing and ensure precise alignment across all drivers. Linn has confirmed that existing owners who upgrade to the Pistonik system will be able to recalibrate their Exakt settings to match the new driver configuration, ensuring continued system optimisation after retrofit.
