CEDIA has released a new white paper on AV-over-IP systems to meet the growing demand by professionals in the CEDIA community.

“Integrators and their customers are constantly seeking more efficient, cost-effective ways of delivering today’s data-heavy media options and AV-over-IP is certainly a valuable tool worth exploring,” CEDIA senior director of technology and standards Walt Zerbe says.

“Our members rely on CEDIA to be on top of the topics that are new and next, and this white paper fits the bill by breaking down the ‘geekiest’ points of AV-over-IP.”

To help develop this paper and look at all aspects of AV-over-IP, CEDIA called Mike Maniscalco of Better Living Technologies and Pytheas, Nathan Holmes of Access Networks and David Meyer of CEDIA.

‘AV-over-IP Systems’ gives members a background on the technology, an overview of its uses and the many considerations at play including infrastructure, power and compression while also factoring in quality, bandwidth and latency.
