KanexPro has released the HDMX42A-18G matrix switcher which is an easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for 4K/60Hz with 4:4:4, 16-bit deep colour, HDR and HD audio formats.

Designed with four inputs and two outputs, the matrix can extract audio from any of the sources and outputs through an optical Toslink or analogue two-channel audio format. It can downscale 4K sources to 1080p which enables it to be integrated in mixed 4K and 1080p systems with no loss of quality to the display.

The HDMX42A-18G is ideal for swift switching and routing of any HDMI sources such as laptops, Blu-ray players and 4K based-Apple TV to any four displays.

It meets the industry standard HDCP 2.2 authentication to ensure there’s a proper handshake of the protected content while also maintaining resolutions up to 4K-4096×2160@24, 30, 50 or 60Hz, 3840×2160@24, 25,30, 50 or 60Hz and 2560×1080@60Hz displaying 21:9 aspect ratios.

The matrix is ideal for installation environments including home theatre and conference rooms while reducing the complexity.
