Icron launches Raven 3301-ECO USB-C extender for 100m CATx installations
Icron, distributed by Madison AV in Australia, has released the Raven 3301-ECO, a compact USB-C extender system designed to deliver USB 3 data at up to 5Gbps over CAT 5e or better cabling across distances of up to 100m.
The one-port, point-to-point system aims at applications where reliable long-distance USB connectivity is required without the complexity of built-in hubs. It supports all USB transaction types and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices, making it suitable for extending conference cameras, touch controllers, remote storage, security and monitoring equipment and video matrix systems.

The Raven 3301-ECO consists of a local extender (LEX) powered at the host and a remote extender (REX), which can supply up to 15W of power to a connected USB device. Using standard CAT 5e or better UTP cabling, the system enables transparent USB extension with true plug-and-play operation and no software drivers required.
Designed as a hubless solution, the Raven 3301-ECO does not consume USB hub tiers and supports up to 31 downstream devices. It is compatible with major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS and works with common host controllers such as OHCI, UHCI, EHCI and xHCI.
Housed in a black anodised aluminium enclosure, both extenders feature a compact footprint measuring 100 x 76 x 25.4mm. The system operates from 0°C to 40°C and is certified to major international compliance standards, including FCC, CE, RCM and UKCA.
The Raven 3301-ECO is available in multiple regional variants, including an Australian model supplied with a region-specific power adapter, and is backed by a two-year warranty.
