Extron has introduced the SW2 HD 8K, a compact two-input HDMI switcher with analogue audio de-embedding, designed to support high-performance video and flexible audio integration in modern AV systems.

The SW2 HD 8K supports video resolutions up to 8K, including 21:9 and 5K ultra-wide aspect ratios, making it suitable for next-generation collaboration and presentation environments. Alongside its HDMI output, the unit features an analogue audio output that extracts stereo audio from HDMI sources for connection to external sound systems or audio equipment.

“The SW2 HD 8K is purpose-built to support the evolving demands of modern AV environments. With support for 8K and ultra-wide video formats, along with analogue audio de-embedding, this switcher delivers the performance and flexibility integrators need to design forward-looking systems with confidence,” Extron chief marketing officer Casey Hall says.

The switcher includes integrator-focused features such as automatic input cable equalisation, user-selectable HDCP authorisation and multiple control options. Its HDMI output can also power external peripheral devices, including active HDMI cables for longer signal runs.

Extron positions the SW2 HD 8K as suited to Microsoft Teams Front Row environments, immersive presentation spaces and advanced collaboration rooms.
