Epson launches EH-LS970B flagship 4K ultra-short throw projector
Epson has unveiled its flagship ultra-short throw projector, the EH-LS970B, delivering 8.3 million-pixel real 4K performance using 3LCD, three-chip technology, alongside AI-powered image optimisation and integrated Bose audio.
Designed for premium home cinema applications, the EH-LS970B sits just 28cm from the wall while projecting images up to 150”. Epson’s advanced pixel-shifting technology works in parallel with three individual high-definition LCD chips to produce a sharp 4K image while maintaining high brightness levels.

Powered by Epson’s laser optical engine, the projector delivers 4,000 lumens of white and colour light output, with full 10-bit HDR colour processing and 100% HDR source acceptance. A 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio enhances depth and clarity, while scene adaptive gamma and dynamic tone mapping optimise brightness, contrast and colour in real time.
AI-driven features include AI Super Resolution for enhanced fine detail, an AI perceptual quantiser for improved tonal balance and de-contour processing to reduce banding and artefacts for smoother visuals.
Setup is streamlined via the Epson Setting Assistant app for iOS and Android, which uses a mobile device camera to automatically correct projection distortion. The projector also includes built-in Google Assistant for voice control and a custom-designed stereo sound system enhanced by Bose.
For gaming, the EH-LS970B supports 4K HDR at 60Hz and features a dedicated HDMI port for 1080p/120Hz input. With input lag below 20ms, Epson positions the projector as suitable for responsive, large-format gaming experiences.
