Earthquake Sound announces new subwoofer range
Earthquake Sound has announced its Supernova MKIV series of powered subwoofers.
The amplifier that powers the Supernova MKIV is a built-in 450W Class ‘A/B’ amplifier with a range of features that aim to put users in control. These include an auto signal detection switch, 0–180º phase switch, 12dB/octave variable filter and low level (RCA), and high level inputs.

The active driver used in the MKIV is designed for accurate reproduction of bass and sub-bass frequencies. Its thermally pressed poly-ether foam surround allows for high excursion without deformation. The XLT motor structure allows large movement without reduced electromotive coupling.
Opposite of the XLT active driver is a patented SLAPS Passive Radiator that increases subwoofer efficiency and capability for ultra low frequency reproduction at high decibel levels. Earthquake’s SLAPS technology allows for a single amplifier to produce the output of two woofers thus reducing power consumption and electricity bill.
Earthquake Sound is distributed in Australia by Radio Parts.
