Crestron has released the latest addition to its UC tabletop solution – the Crestron Flex MX. It’s the first product to offer both native and BYOD compatibility and aims to completely transform the way businesses use video conferencing.

“Our focus has always been on delivering innovations that simplify workflows and help people be more productive,” Crestron executive vice president, product and technology Ranjan Sing says. “Collaboration is key to a successful workplace, so it only makes sense that workplace technology be collaborative as well.”

The Flex MX has the flexibility to let users run native Microsoft Teams or Zoom Rooms or switch to BYOD mode for all other communication software. For organisations standardised on Zoom or Teams, guests can plug in their laptops and use whichever software is running on their device.

Unprecedented among UC products, this eliminates the concern that a meeting room won’t support a user’s call, enabling truly streamlined connectivity and collaboration.

It also features HDMI and USB connectivity, a 150° FOV camera and a 360° quad microphone array.

“The Crestron Flex Series, and specifically the new Flex MX models, eliminates one of the major impediments to smooth and productive meetings – attendees using different UC platforms,” Crestron UC director of strategy Joe Sarrasin says.
