Crestron has announced Crestron HomeTime,  a collaborative project which aims to deliver a premiere video conferencing, home control and UC experience engineered for socialising, remote learning and working from home.

Crestron HomeTime is a meeting of the minds between the Logitech MeetUp conference cameras with the Crestron UC engine, delivering the optimal Zoom Rooms experience.

Video conferencing in the workplace is very common and with the latest HomeTime, homeowners can get access to the tool and use a TV in the living room to see participants on a much larger scale.

The MeetUp 4K camera with wide-angle lens captures everyone comfortably in the frame, the full range speakers deliver high-quality and intelligible audio while a beamforming microphone lets all participants speak naturally among the group while still being heard.

“It’s time to end the awkward conversations. No more crowding around a laptop and talking over each other because you can’t follow who is speaking. The idea for HomeTime was created from the challenges experienced by families trying to socialise, learn and work from home. We, at Crestron, knew we had a convenient solution that every living room deserved,” Crestron vice president, residential John Clancy says.

“By integrating Logitech MeetUp and Zoom Rooms software with the Crestron platform, we can help homeowners prepare for anything, whether that is working in the home office, remote learning in the playroom, or virtual happy hours in the family room.”

Zoom Video Collaboration head of Zoom Rooms JeffSmith says that Crestron shares the company’s commitment to high-quality collaboration technology.

“Crestron HomeTime raises the bar, bringing the conference room into the living room,” he says.

Crestron HomeTime is available now.
