CEDIA+Connected Conference postponed

CEDIA and Lanella Media (publisher of Connected) have come to the decision to postpone the CEDIA+Connected Conference, which is currently scheduled for 27-28 May 2020.

A new date has not yet been confirmed.

“We have been monitoring the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) closely and as you would be aware, it has now been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization with the Australian Federal Government banning indoor gatherings of more than 100 people. As such we have made the difficult decision to postpone the CEDIA+Connected Conference until the current threat of COVID-19 is over. Further, international travel restrictions have made it impossible for CEDIA staff and some presenters to attend the conference,” says Lanella Media managing director Jeremy Sweet.

“As recently as last week, new sponsors had signed on to participate in the event, which to us shows a dedication to and loyalty within our industry that would be hard to come by elsewhere.”

CEDIA and Lanella Media will continue to monitor the situation closely as more details emerge.

“Rest assured that this event is not cancelled; rather, it is simply postponed,” says CEDIA Vice President, Global Development Wendy Griffiths.

“The health and safety of our staff, supporting sponsors, presenters and conference attendees must come first but we will finalise the rescheduled dates as soon as possible after consultation with the venue and presenters. Australia is an important market for CEDIA and we want to ensure that our local members remain engaged with us during these trying times and have access to tools to support them.”

Both organisations would like to thank event sponsor SnapAV + Control4, as well as all showcase sponsors, for their on-going support of the event.

CEDIA and Lanella Media will offer further updates as more information becomes available. Alternatively, please feel free to visit the CEDIA+Connected Conference’s website at www.connectedconference.com.au.

Stay healthy.
