CEDIA Foundation opens applications for free smart home training program
The CEDIA Foundation has opened applications for a workforce development initiative offering free training and career support to people looking to enter the professional smart home industry.
Your Future, Fully Integrated will provide selected applicants from Australia, the US, UK, India and Canada with a grant covering the full cost of CEDIA’s Smart Home Fundamentals online learning pathway.

The 20-hour, self-paced course covers the foundational skills required to begin working as a smart home technician, including AV, wire and cabling, termination and testing, construction methods and materials, project processes, equipment installation, retrofit techniques, safety practices and building codes and standards.
Applicants in selected US and UK markets who complete the online training will also be invited to attend a hands-on CEDIA Residential Bootcamp. The sessions will be held at CEDIA’s US and UK headquarters and partner training facilities, giving participants the opportunity to put their training into practice with guidance from experienced industry professionals.
Recipients will also receive a free career coaching consultation from Amplify People, a talent partner working with AV and integration professionals.
“The success of 100 Techs in 100 Days in 2025 demonstrated what can happen when we make the path into this industry more accessible,” CEDIA Foundation chairperson David Weinstein says.
“Your Future, Fully Integrated builds on that momentum by giving motivated individuals the training and support they need to pursue an exciting new career in smart home technology.”
Applications are open until 13 November. The program is available to people aged 18 and over, including those with transferable skills from adjacent industries such as construction, networking and information technology, as well as recent or near graduates and people with an interest in technology.
The CEDIA Foundation is also encouraging eligible students to take advantage of CEDIA student membership, which is available to people currently enrolled full time in an accredited school, college, university or training program, as well as those who graduated from a full time program during the current calendar year.
Student members receive access to educational content, industry insights and trend reports, events and a global professional network.
“Programs like Your Future, Fully Integrated are only possible because of the generosity of our donors and the commitment of the smart home community to keep building the workforce of tomorrow,” CEDIA Foundation operations and workforce development manager Tara Guertin says.
“We encourage everyone in the channel to help spread the word. There may be someone in your network with the skills and passion to succeed in this industry who simply has not yet discovered this career path.”
