AVPro Edge adds 24-port 10G switch to MXnet AV-over-IP platform

AVPro Edge has expanded its MXnet AV-over-IP platform with the AC-MXNET-SW24XF, a 24-port 10G switch designed for SDVoE deployments requiring high bandwidth without the port density of a 48-port core switch.

The switch features 24 10G SFP+ ports alongside six 100G QSFP28 ports for stacking and uplinks. This allows SDVoE systems to scale from a standalone switch to multi-switch configurations without requiring a major change to the network architecture.

The AC-MXNET-SW24XF is preconfigured for MXnet 10G systems, with IGMP Snooping, VLAN segmentation, Quality of Service (QoS) and Link Aggregation Group (LAG) settings optimised for multicast AV traffic.

AVPro Edge rates the switch at 1.68Tbps of switching capacity and 600Mpps forwarding, providing a non-blocking architecture for SDVoE traffic.

For multi-switch configurations, three 100G inter-switch links provide 300Gbps of stacking bandwidth, exceeding the 240Gbps maximum load. This leaves three of the six QSFP28 ports on each switch available for additional endpoint expansion or further uplinks.

The switch is designed for enterprise, education, production and government installations, and can operate as a standalone core or as a spine-connected edge switch beneath the SW32HF.

The AC-MXNET-SW24XF uses a 1RU rackmount chassis and includes hot-swappable power supplies and redundant fans for serviceability in installations where network availability is critical. AVPro Edge specifies a maximum of three switch hops.
