CEDIA APAC AWARDS 2021 – Integrated Home Level IV – RABONE SYSTEMS

Rabone Systems says the performance objective for this property (the project was title New Haven)  was to deliver a solution that enabled all sub systems to operate under a unified interface without complexity to the end user.

For the vast majority of this project, the client was overseas, but it remained paramount that he had a clear understanding of what was being delivered. Being that this client was also hard of hearing, Rabone Systems paid special mind to its audio selections. A total of six zones allowed for assisted hearing headphones to be used, giving the client individual control of the volume to his headset without impacting the rest of the room.

This also allowed Rabone Systems to re-shape the EQ curves for those outputs to boost the vocal frequencies, which the client’s hearing is most affected by. Since this residence was intended to serve as a “holiday house,” the clients wanted to be able to host large gatherings and facilitate good, quality sound across levels and zones with minimal SPL drop. A request like this in a such an expansive home called for 22 audio zones and 80 ceiling speakers, not including the ones in the cinema.

The video distribution to the 16 AV zones was achieved using Crestron’s NVX video over IP platform as it gave Rabone Systems the flexibility to support locally switched sources and all other shared distributed sources. With a property stretching six levels and incorporating 400+ loads, the lighting control system within the property was inevitably vast, and the team felt it made the most sense for it to function based on scenes, schedules, and triggered events.

Rabone Systems worked alongside the electrical contractor, builder, and architect to meet the required outcome.
