Shanghai AV Style’s winning showroom was one of two competing for the Best Showroom award.

The winning project is a dedicated theatre space with multiple uses in addition to building the firm’s brand in North China and attracting high-end customers – it’s also used as an educational facility and a rental space for events.

The theatre was built to optimize an immersive 9.2.4 Atmos audio experience with the room’s dimensions engineered to correspond with that.

The room uses a Barco projector for image and the firm felt that James Loudspeakers were the best choice for providing audio of Hollywood movies and North American concert films – entertainment options that are popular with the firm’s clientele.

The speakers in the room are hidden, including an array that is placed behind the acoustically transparent screen.

The firm spare no expense – while the original budget was US$550,000, the project came in about US$100,000 over budget.
