Josh.ai has released its Nimble DevSuite+ update, expanding the development tools available to professional integrators with new Home Assistant connectivity and support for independently developed custom drivers.

The update is designed to give installers greater flexibility when configuring smart home systems for projects with specialised requirements, while retaining Josh.ai’s existing whole-home control platform.

A key addition is the ability for Josh.ai to communicate with externally hosted Home Assistant environments. The optional capability allows advanced integrators to use the open-source third-party platform when working on projects that require additional protocols or functionality.

By supporting connectivity through an independently hosted environment, the integration provides another option for installers without requiring custom development within the Josh.ai platform itself.

Nimble DevSuite+ also introduces tools for advanced integrators to develop and deploy their own custom drivers. These independently developed drivers operate on additional hardware units and are not officially supported or certified by Josh.ai, but provide greater scope to accommodate individual client requirements.

Separately, Josh.ai has introduced its first certified TV lift integration, developed in partnership with Nexus 21. The integration brings control of motorised TV positioning and concealment into the Josh.ai platform through a certified driver developed by Chowmainsoft.

The driver supports preset lift positions that can be incorporated into Josh scenes and conditional automations, as well as activated through the platform’s user interfaces.

Nexus 21 lift systems of any model or age can be integrated with Josh.ai when fitted with the appropriate Universal Control Hub, which is available directly from Nexus 21.

The two developments expand the options available to professional installers, providing additional ways to connect third-party systems and tailor smart home functionality to individual projects.
