PMC will unveil its PMC10 XBD Main Monitor system at CEDIA Expo as part of an immersive audio installation with US distributor Playback Custom.

The system will receive its first public presentation in Sound Room 6, demonstrating PMC’s professional monitoring technology in a residential cinema environment.

The installation will feature three PMC10 XBD speakers for the front left, centre and right channels, alongside eight Ci140s and six Ci65s for surround and height channels. Six new PMC15 SUBs will provide low-frequency support, with the complete system integrated and controlled by a StormAudio processor.

The PMC10 XBD is a twin-cabinet active monitor featuring two 10” bass drivers, PMC’s ATL bass-loading system and LaminairX airflow technology. It also incorporates a redesigned 3” midrange dome with PMC’s a-void absorber and a 34mm soft-dome HF driver.

Each LCR speaker is powered and controlled by a dedicated PMC master36, combining 32-bit DSP crossover processing with 3,600W of amplification. The PMC15 SUBs are powered by PMC power20 rack-mounted amplifiers, each delivering 2,000W of Class-D amplification.

PMC’s professional monitoring technology has been used in film production, scoring, mixing and post-production for more than three decades. The CEDIA Expo installation is designed to demonstrate how the same monitoring standards can be applied to high-end residential cinemas.
