Onkyo’s 5.2-channel TX-SR393 AV receiver with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X has been launched to bring flexibility and simplicity to the home entertainment system.

Mixed in 3D domain, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X soundtracks use metadata to transpose sound origins within the scene to the corresponding positions in the listening space, tracking effects vertically, horizontally and placing audio all around the audience.

TX-SR393 offers a room-friendly 3.2.2-channel solution to native Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Dolby Surround and DTS Neural:X up-mixing technologies, remap legacy soundtracks for playback through any speaker layout, including those with height channels, for more spatially realistic audio.

When playing any Dolby format, engaging Dolby Atmos Height Virtualiser enables a more immersive listening experience, creating a virtual surround and height effect.

DTS Virtual:X creates a 3D sound-field with DSP-based algorithms, wrapping the user in audio from all directions through any speaker layout without surround or height speaker connection.

Several new high-value features debut on this model. DSP-based Vocal Enhancer allows users to raise or lower vocal frequencies using the remote controller or front-panel VOCAL buttons, clarifying movie or TV dialogue audibility in seconds.

Zone B line-out passes audio signals including HDMI and digital audio to a component with an analogue RCA audio input, for example a nearby hi-fi system or wireless headphone dock. Clearly numbered and illustrated diagrams on the rear panel simplifies initial connection.

Onkyo TX-SR393 3.2.2-channel AV receiver is available now.

Onkyo is distributed in Australia by Amber Technology.
