Yamaha releases new range of HD home theatre packages
Seven packages make up the new range of Yamaha home theatre systems – YHT-392AU, YHT-492AU, YHT-592AU, YHT-692AU, YHT-892AU, YHT-992AU and YHT-1092AU.
Essential for the high definition era, HDMI connectivity is present in the entire Yamaha range, allowing transmission of full HD 1080p.
At entry level, the AV receiver in the YHT-592AU (RX-V365) features HDMI video switching. HDMI Video Switching allows the pass through of a full HD 1080p signal.

The AV receivers in the YHT-392AU (RX-V465), YHT-492AU (RX-V565) YHT-692AU, (RX-V465) and YHT-892AU (RX-V565), YHT-992AU (RX-V665) and the YHT-1092AU (RX-V765) being HDMI repeaters all have the ability to handle HD audio via either bit stream or Linear PCM.
The YHT-392AU is a 5.1 channel package, delivering 525 watts of power. This system features HD audio decoding in 5.1, four HDMI inputs, 17 Cinema DSP programmes and iPod and Bluetooth compatibility. The book shelf speakers make this the perfect package for those restricted by space.
The YHT-492AU is a premium 7.1 channel home theatre package with satellite speakers, delivering a total of 735 watts of power. The YHT-492AU has 17 Cinema DSP modes and includes Yamaha’s iPod dock. Black gloss speakers made from real wood, offer stylish design combined with superior audio performance.
The YHT-592AU delivers 500 watts of power, has two HDMI inputs and eight Cinema DSP programmes. The front floor standing speakers in this package provide full-bodied sound for music and movies.
The 5.1 channel, YHT-692AU has decoding for HD audio formats from Dolby and DTS and a total output power of 525 watts. Featuring European designed front speakers this package is perfect for those concerned not only with great sound quality but with home décor and styling.
The YHT-892AU is the perfect package for those who want the true home cinema experience. The YHT-892AU is a 7.1 channel system enabling a full home theatre experience from blu-ray discs coded with HD audio in full 7.1 surround and has a total output power of 630 watts. It has HDMI upconversion and upscaling and includes Yamaha’s iPod dock.
At the higher end of the range, the YHT-992AU is the perfect choice for the discerning audio enthusiast. Outputting a total of 630 watts of power, this system features Yamaha’s proprietary Pure Direct technology, which delivers the most pure sound when listening to hi-fi sources. The YHT-992AU also has powered zone 2 and binding posts for all main zone speakers enabling the connection of better speaker wire for improved audio performance.
For the ultimate in HD entertainment, the premium YHT-1092AU is the perfect option.
The YHT-1092AU is a 7.2 channel home theatre system, outputting a total of 665 watts through seven speakers and two subwoofers. The elliptical form speakers have traditional piano finish cabinets and provide superb audio reproduction. Video upscaling to full HD 1080p and built-in decoders for the latest HD audio formats from Dolby and DTS maximise the overall experience. Zone 2 capability enhances the functionality of the YHT-1092AU by enabling you to watch a movie in 5.2 channel surround sound in one room while someone listens to music, for example from their iPod through two channels in another room.
The YHT-1092AU also combines premium technology such as Digital ToP-ART which is a Yamaha design concept ensuring the receiver is fully capable of handling the transmission of high volume digital sound data at speeds up to 192kHz, discrete amplification and an aluminium front panel on the receiver.
The entire range is supplemented with Yamaha’s Compressed Music Enhancer to improve high and low response in portable music formats such as MP3 and WMA. Setting up a home theatre system in your home couldn’t be easier, with all receivers including Yamaha’s exclusive YPAO calibration system. YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Room Optimiser) measures speaker size and capacity along with room and acoustic measurements to ensure the ultimate surround performance at the listener’s position.
