Available as a free download from the iTunes App Store, Yamaha’s new catalogue App for iPad presents the latest models in the home theatre range while utilising familiar gestures and controls to engage its audience. Prospective customers are able to intuitively browse Yamaha’s extensive home theatre range, drawing on technology to navigate these products.

The release of a catalogue in an ‘App’ format is not new for Yamaha. Those following Yamaha’s premier AVENTAGE range would have most likely come across the AVENTAGE catalogue in the iTunes App Store earlier this year. In similar fashion, Yamaha’s new catalogue App offers an
interactive method of researching the new ’71 Series receiver range and home theatre packages.

The ability to intuitively interact with the entire line-up promises to serve as an attractive alternative to flipping through pages of a hard copy version. Additionally, the App is updateable. As new models are released, the catalogue App automatically updates to reflect these additions to the range.

Exploring Yamaha’s range of products with the catalogue app presents the user with an interactive experience. Navigation surpasses the act of simply ‘swiping’, and includes helpful links to related product pages within the App as well as detailed specifications and social media web pages. Quick links from the contents page enable the user to jump directly to their area of interest. If wanting to know more about a particular model, the user is able to discover the key features by intuitively touching the ‘plus’ buttons found on the front and reverse images of the product. Gallery views for each model in the range as well as an accessories section ensure the user has all the necessary information to feel confident in deciding which product will best suit their needs.

The announcement of Yamaha’s new catalogue app coincides with the recently released iOS controller app for network capable models within the new home theatre range. Available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, Yamaha’s AV Controller app provides access to various functions including set-up and option menus, zone control, and advanced network operations including browsing of music stored remotely on a Mac, PC or network attached storage (NAS) device with album artwork displayed by the app. Navigation of internet radio stations is also a straightforward practice with the familiar interface.

As the use of Apps continues to develop in a home entertainment context, Yamaha is poised to take advantage of the benefits this tool presents – especially with the popularity of iOS devices in Australia. With Yamaha’s new ’71 Series receivers carrying the motto, “Simple Operation, Seamless Integration,” the outlook suggests a focus on user-friendly interfaces for Yamaha.

Yamaha’s catalogue app for iPad is available now from the Australian iTunes App store – simply search for ‘Yamaha Music Australia’.
