Yamaha, which is distributed by Radio Parts, has announced the introduction of two new products – the DA-QS5400RK Quad Streamer and the XDA-AMP5400RK AMP – that each provide up to four zones of audio with eight channels of amplification.

Yamaha AV division product manager Damien Henderson says the launch of the two new models is another step into the seamlessly connected home.

The Quad Streamer delivers flexibility, expandability and seamless connection to an ever-expanding range of MusicCast audio products, including sound bars, AV receivers and speakers. Up to four music streams can be configured and assigned to any or all of the stereo outputs, making it ideally suited for use with in-ceiling or all-weather speakers. It fits into a space-efficient 1U enclosure with removable rack ears and faceplate, while dual Ethernet LAN ports make it easy to daisy chain multiple units up to a combined total of 32 zones.

MusicCast offers a range of musical possibilities with popular streaming services, Internet radio stations and access to music libraries stored on mobile devices and computers – supporting high-res audio playback up to 192 kHz/24-bit. In addition, any connected source (including from HDMI where a MusicCast AV receiver or sound bar is present) can be shared between devices and rooms.

The Quad Streamer and other MusicCast products can be controlled through the free MusicCast app or through third-party home control systems such as Control4, ELAN and RTI, which can be integrated with other home control systems. Additionally, MusicCast products can now be controlled through voice commands by Amazon Alexa-enabled devices such as the Echo Dot.

The Quad Streamer employs dual, audiophile-grade 384kHz/32-bit ESS SABRE Digital-to-Analogue Converters (DACs) and ultra-efficient ICE power integrated circuits to deliver amplification with 10Hz to 22kHz (+0/-3 dB) frequency response and 106dB signal-to-noise ratio. Additional expansion options are possible thanks to the XDA-AMP5400RK, which features eight bridgeable channels that can be used to boost speaker output or expand a system to encompass additional rooms.

The AMP integrates with the Quad Streamer via 12V trigger controls and provides analogue throughputs for setting up a bus to multiple units for further expansion.
